Earl’s path to criminal defense was less traditional than the average attorney. After spending over a decade working in Corporate IT, Earl took a leap and charted a new course to an area he had always been very passionate about: helping others.
After earning dual bachelor degrees at the University of North Dakota and his Master of Business Administration from Hamline University, Earl attended William Mitchell College of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. At Mitchell, Earl was recognized by the Minnesota Justice Foundation for providing pro bono services to incarcerated persons through the Legal Aid to Minnesota Prisoners Program. Earl also volunteered his time representing indigent persons at the Office of the Public Defender in Anoka, Minnesota. Earl did this all while working full-time and going to law school at night.
In addition to his private practice at Migala Law Office, Earl is also a part-time Public Defender in Mille Lacs County where he represents indigent clients facing charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, from juvenile offenses to child protection cases.
While at Migala Law Office, Earl has represented clients in a wide variety of cases, including Harassment Restraining Orders, Domestic Assault, and Felony Drug cases. He is also experienced in DWI-related matters and was a contributing author to the Minnesota DWI Deskbook series.
